Shoe Tree...

We have a lovely ficus tree in our side yard.  It contracted white fly disease and shed most of its leaves.  It has been treated and happily is on its way back to good health.  The barren branches bugged me though - brilliant idea - dress it up!

Steps 1, 2 and 3 - run around town to thrift shops and buy as many cool shoes as possible - size doesn't matter since I'll never wear them - drill drainage and hanging holes; water proof shoes.
Step 4 - hang them from the tree branches

Step 5 - explain to the neighbors what a shoe tree is - then enjoy the yard art!
Keeping my fingers crossed that neighborhood kids don't steal/"borrow" the shoes!

Oh, that's too cute! When you get tired of them hanging, fill them with hens and chicks! I've been looking for cute high heels to do that! It might be me sneaking over the fence to steal them! he he xx
