la féminité consacré

I love making art dolls.  I have created "boxed dolls" in the past, but never thought about making a shrine.  This week I gave myself permission to do just that.

My materials were simple: foam core board, masking tape, aluminum foil, plaster wrap, Paperclay®, acrylic paint, Aquacolor® crayons, beads, charms, wire, springs, wood dowel - Voila!

I am absolutely thrilled with the way she turned out.

Evolution

Life Book 2015, Week 28, led by Tamara Laporte.  We are to create a collage using magazine pages and paint over it.

Combination of torn book and magazine pages, washi tape, image transfer..not sure how I'll make that arm work...scale is off...should have thought this through more before gluing it down...

acrylic paint, pencil marks, handwriting...still not happy with that arm...

I keep messing with that arm and hand...

Okay - the arm is history...more collage and painted birds...ah, that feels better!  This drawing evolved over the course of several days.  No drawing is so precious that it cannot be painted over.

ATC Swap

I received art swap ATCs from Kim Hetherington today.  Each one is a gem.  Kim generously made me 3 - what a lucky diva am I!

Princess Warrior

Life Book 2015, Week 26, led by Andrea Gomoll.  We are to create a Princess Warrior incorporating things we love or that define us.

Crazy I know - but I love creating layers for my backgrounds.

Lots of paint

My Warrior Princess likes her ink!

Earrings are a must!

What defines me.  First and foremost I am a fiber artist.  I love to sew, draw, paint, read, watch birds from my studio window and, of course, take photographs!

Two For Me and Two For You

Life Book 2015, Week 24, we are to make Artist Trading Cards to swap.  The theme is "Being Brave/Courage."

ATC swaps are fun.  These little gems measure 2.5" x 3.5" - quick to make, easy to mail.

What I did:
transfer and collage magazine pages

addition of gesso, water soluble crayons, marks

acrylic paint added; drawing too.  I would be very brave indeed to wear tights such as these!

I made two cards to swap as well as a set to keep.

I hope my swap partner likes these ATCs.
