Dollar Store Art Journal...

Week 34 Life Book 2014 led by Catt Geller.  We are to create an art journal book cover incorporating our own artwork.  Catt is the originator of something called "Cosmic Smash" books.  Her journals are lovely, but I chose to take my own road.

I created a cover using card stock, added copies of my drawings; sanded, gessoed and painted a dollar story children's book and viola - a simple art journal!

I've Been Framed!

Now that I've completed the 40 Portrait Challenge, I thought it would be fun to frame and display these little gems in my home.

Crossing the finish line...

I am nearly done with the FB Gritty Jane 40 Portrait Challenge.  It's been a lot of fun, but honestly, I need to concentrate on other things.  The good and bad news - my sewing machine needs repair.  Luckily, I have a spare.  While I wait for my machine to come home, I can finish up with this challenge.

and now I present No. 40
"Time to Celebrate!" - whew, glad's that's over :-)

40 Portrait Challenge (continued)

Drawing with my right hand or left hand - it does not seem to matter.  I'm glad there are only to be 40 portraits for this challenge as I am seriously addicted!  I'm having a hard time concentrating on...just about everything else.  One minute I think I'll never have another idea for a portrait and the next thing I know...

Here are #21-28 for Gritty Jane's 40 Portrait Challenge...

I know moms are not to have favorite children, but I really love #21 and #25.  Do you have a favorite? Let me know which one and why!

Half Way Mark!

Oh boy - I've reached the halfway mark in the FB Gritty Jane's 40 Portrait Challenge!

15-20 shown here

A number of these were drawn with my left hand (painted with my right).  Can you guess which were drawn with my left hand?  It's beginning to get easier to control the pencil...
