It looks like a Japanese Beetle ... pretty, but it will eat your flower so I would get the hormone traps and put them in the yard ... where there is one there are many :) ... Beautiful picture though :)
Terrible Japanese beetle...even though it's fascinating-looking! I've read horror stories of the damage they do to roses. The amaryllis is a beauty; I keep hoping that I'll actually grow one some year!
