We'll visit Amelia Island FL, Beaufort SC, Savannah GA and Charleston SC. I always make a journal for my trips.
Several canvas/cardboard journals found in Michael's bargain bins - $1 each. Gesso applied to each side - you get what you pay for - the canvas started peeling away from the cardboard! Basting stitch using leather needle keeps all layers together. Water soluble crayons add background color to each page. Page edges painted with Quinacridone/Nickel Azo Gold. Dates added to each page; heavy yarn threaded through holes (I punched an extra hole in the middle of the page.)
We're ready to hit the road!

Your road trip journal is stunning, Pat! Wow! Love it! :)
Savannah is so beautiful, I have spent there just a couple of hours but really liked it. Can't wait to see your photos!
I like to journal on trips too but I must admit, I have never made the journal. I just use a cheap little notebook and later, I transcribe it and put photos with the text. Your journals are real keepsakes.
You are creative!
I make journals, thanks for the creative ideas. Love your journal, hope you will share it after you return.
How cute is that! Very crafty.
Road trips are fun too!
Thank you for visiting Super Sunday Sync. :)
This is such a cute idea! I'll have to pin it to keep it! Thank you for sharing!
Stopping by from SSS!
Love it -- sorry about the a/c, but there are so many places in the U.S. to visit that are just as amazing.
I think road trips are wonderful...if I could talk my husband into more of them! Love your journal...very crafty!
Can't wait to see your photos, Pat. Sorry about Europe - maybe next year!
I prefer short road trips to long holidays. Your journal idea is really great!
