Life Book 2015, Week 9, led by Lynn Whipple. We are to draw a jar containing our favorite things.

Whatever Floats Your Boat...
Life Book 2015, Week 8, led by Mati Rose McDonough. We are to draw a boat and incorporate some gold into the work.
I like boats. I like to ride in boats. Drawing boats - ha! that's another matter. I made up this little "love" boat. It should have oars because that sail isn't going to take me very far.
I was very unhappy with my original work (see below). One just knows when something is "off." Adding a couple of brayer layers helped this drawing a lot (IMO).

The House that Pat Built...
Life Book 2015, Week 7, led by Violette Clark. We are to draw a magical house.
Rather than draw a house on a journal page, I chose to build my house based on a small quilted self portrait; paint it using Neocolor II water soluble wax pastels; cut it up and sew it together. The words outside represent the feelings inside my house. I live in a truly happy home.

My Heart Community
Life Book 2015, Week 7, led by Jill K. Berry. We are to create a "Heart Community Book."
Inspired by women I know, here is my folded accordion style, Heart Community Book. To create my book I used scrapbook papers, book pages, washi tape, acrylic paints and inks, clipart. (Behind the the little doors are words of thanks to the special women in my life who have given me the gift of encouragement, support and love. They mean so much to me.)
